Day 1+2: Roadtrip and Vancouver

Righteo, made it to the Great White North.  How's it going, eh?  Beauty.  Well, it took us a grand total of about 30 hours to drive from the Springs to Vancouver in the "Slower then Maple Syrup on a Cold Day" Mobile.  It's a Winnebago with no oomph whatsoever.  Nice n' slow = BOOOORED!  Well, at least for road trips, heh.  Gary and I switched off every fill-up (which was about every 2-3 hours).  Not too shabby having an actual bed to crash on during those times, though.

Silly me, however, forgot to bring a book so when I wasn't driving I was sleeping out of boredom.  I've drank more Monster in the last day then I have in a few months.  Not that I'm complaining, really.  I like Monster, heh.  So we're driving and we're listening to XM Radio.  Air America when Gary's driving, BPM when I'm driving.  The last remaining speaker in the front dies early in the trip.  By 3am the last speaker in the back also blows.  Mind you we are NOT blaring this stuff.  This is played just loud enough so we can actually make out words.  So we buy some headphones and there we are.

We finally cruise into Seattle and I realize how much I've missed the place.  Seattle is just gorgeous and so very green.  Everywhere you look there's green trees and green vines and growth everywhere.  Even on the highway the walls are covered in creeping ivy.  It's like the city grew out of the forest.  I can't wait until I live here.  But sadly, I leave it there and continue driving north to Vancouver.

Vancouver is a nice place.  I walked around downtown VC for a good few hours just looking at all the stuff.  Lots of interesting shops (like the club clothes place, "Dare to Wear," with mannequins sporting DD cups.  Wow) and the occasional club.  One such place had Jon Digweed headlining tonight!  Sadly, I did not have the $40 needed for a ticket.  Oh, and Drea, I'm sorry... I was standing in line to buy you that blue and silver Chinese dress when I discovered that the bottom seems were frayed all to hell and they didn't have anything else that looked good in an equal or close size.  I'll have to find you something else.

Finally, I regret I did not bring my camera with me to VC so I failed to take a picture of a new Mustang GT Coupe with lambo doors.  John would have shit himself, I'm sure.  Oh well, that's it for today.  Tomorrow I take a train to good ol' Seattle.  Won't forget my camera this time.

No smackdowns - Bring It On!
